Contact The Artist About This Artwork
This is a strong and distinctive print. Its appeal lies not merely in its apparent depiction of an insect, but in the way meticulous observation becomes expressive mark-making. It has a slightly dark, mysterious character, and its intricate surface rewards prolonged viewing.
The central artistic question is whether the image should primarily communicate the insect's anatomy or the independent beauty of its lines. At present, it successfully inhabits both territories—and that ambiguity is one of its most interesting qualities.
